Hollywood - A Microcosm of Good and Evil?

For the last few months, media reports about Hollywood have focused on the pervasive abuse of power. First Weinstein, then Spacey - the list goes on and on. These scandals have tainted Hollywood in the minds and hearts of audiences around the world, perhaps beyond repair, branding the entertainment industry as the ultimate villain.
As a filmmaker in Hollywood, I am outraged by any occurrence that chips away at my profession’s credibility, yet I am also reminded that every good story depicts the tug of war between good and evil. Hollywood's story is no exception - time will tell which side triumphs.
Whether we consciously know it or can admit it, we are fascinated by Hollywood because of its inherent duality. Hollywood is a place where dreams either come true or like a house of cards, come crashing down. Hollywood is a microcosm - of our country and our world - that with all of its glitz and glamour, scandals and corruption highlight one undeniable truth about life and the human existence...
The powers of good and evil co-exist. If we’re smart, we’ll learn to accept them equally. Only then can we choose for which side to fight.
